We are a community choir based in East Renfrewshire, on the Southside of Glasgow, but have members from far and wide. We meet on Tuesdays in Giffnock South Parish Church.
Having formed in June 2012, we currently have more members than our planned maximum of 140 , and a long waiting list (34 as of August 2019), but will always make a space for men and anyone 25 years or under. There are no auditions, and we are open to all age groups: anyone from 3rd year at High School upwards is welcome, so if you’d like more information, or to add your name to the waiting list, please contact Brenda, our administrator.
The choir is led by our choral director Jenny McLachlan, assisted by our accompanist Linda Gibson. Both are very experienced musicians, with choral music at the heart of their work for many, many years. Our choir is run by a committee, led by our chairperson, Catherine Beattie, who is also the minister of Giffnock South Parish Church.
We are self-funding, and our aim, as well as to enjoy singing and socialising, is to raise money for charities.
Our terms run from September to December, and January to June, culminating in concerts at Christmas & Summer.
